摘要
结合对功能翻译理论的基本原理的探讨,认为译者在翻译过程中应从译语读者的角度出发,根据译文的预期目的来决定自己的翻译策略与方法。在此基础上结合汉译英的旅游资料翻译的实践活动,对功能翻译理论在旅游翻译中的应用进行了具体分析,指出译者在把旅游资料从中文翻译成英文的过程中,不仅要对英汉两种语言有娴熟的驾驭能力,而且要有认识和处理文化差异的能力,译者在尊重原文的基础上可以采取删减、改译、补充说明等翻译策略,使译文能够达到预期效果,起到沟通交流的目的。
Based on an introduction of some basic points of functionalist translation theory,this paper holds that the translator should stand in the shoes of the TL reader and select translating strategy in accordance with the expected skopos of the translated version. In respect to the actual practice of C-E translation of tourist texts,the author makes a detailed analysis of the application of the functionalist translation theory to the translation of tourist texts. The translator, as is argued,should not only be competent bilingually but also excel in understanding and resolving cultural differences. As long as he has respect for the source text, he is entitled to adjust or rewrite the source text in order to make his translation more comprehensible and acceptable to the target reader and achieve the intended purpose and function of the target text.
