摘要
因受蔡元培的感召和引领,北京大学师生创办平民学校,开展平民教育,助推教育平等。蔡元培的平民教育观念从此落地,并转化为北京大学师生的共同行动。平民学校及其平民教育成为1918—1930年北京大学校园一道亮丽的风景线。蔡元培不遗余力宣传教育平等的观念,培养学生服务社会的能力,服务社会和教育平等构成了蔡元培平民教育思想的形与质。蔡元培是北京大学平民教育的开创者,承继晚清新式教育“开民智”之风,身体力行,率先垂范,在北京大学校内外产生广泛影响。蔡元培的平民教育思想嵌入民国以降的社会现实,具有启蒙现代性,对当下教育扶贫不无借鉴价值。
With the inspiration and guidance of Cai Yuanpei, teachers and students of Peking University established a civilian school to carry out civilian education and promote education equality. Cai Yuanpei’s concept of civilian education has since been implemented and transformed into a joint action by teachers and students of Peking University. Civilian education became a landscape of Peking University campus from 1918 to 1930. Cai Yuanpei spared no effort to propagate the concept of education equality and cultivate students’ ability to serve society. Service to society and education equality constitute the shape and quality of Cai Yuanpei’s civilian education thought. Cai Yuanpei is the pioneer of civilian education at Peking University. He inherited the style of “opening up people’s wisdom” in late-fresh education, and he took the lead in setting an example and exerted a wide range of influence both inside and outside Peking University. Cai Yuanpei’s ideology of civilian education is embedded in the social reality since the Republic of China, has enlightenment modernity, and is of great value for the current education and poverty alleviation.
