摘要
黑格尔的"艺术终结论"预言了以言说真理为职能的古典艺术的消亡,阿瑟·丹托等人的"艺术终结论"则宣布艺术终结于"哲学对艺术的剥夺"。在晚期现代性的时代,艺术终结的实质是自律性艺术的终结。审美现代性设计了一种以审美主义、署名崇拜和文本自足为规定性的艺术体制,而波普等"反艺术"和大众文化则用日常生活经验的呈现解构了自律性艺术体制。艺术自律起源于资产阶级与贵族国家争夺文化领导权这一历史事件;随着国家与市民社会二项对立趋于消散,包括艺术自律在内的普世性价值观念体系也就失去了合法性,于是出现了自律性艺术体制终结的历史现象。艺术终结论的真正内涵是自律性艺术的终结,而终结自律性艺术的真正力量是大众文化。
Friedrich Hegel' s claim of"end of the art" predicts the death of classical arts which preaches truth; Arthur Danto' s "the end of art" theory claims that the death of art is due to "depravity of art by philosophy". In the late period of modernity, the end of art is in essence the end of art-for-itself. Aesthetic modernity designs an artistic mechanism characterizes itself with aestheticism, worship of the author and text-for-itself, however, Karl Popper' s "anti-art" and mass culture de-construct such a mechanism with the presentation of everyday life. The idea of Art-for- itself arises from the historic event of conten- ding for leadership between the bourgeois and the aristocratic classes, with the disappearing of the contradict between the sta- te and the civil society, the universal ideological system including the idea of art-for-itself loses its legal ground, therefore there appears the historic fact of ending of the autonomous arts. The true meaning of end of the art is the end of art-for-itself, and the true force to put an end to it is mass culture.
