摘要
英汉文化中,表示颜色的词汇丰富多彩,但因为有着不同的文化背景,这些词汇都被赋予了基本义之外的文化内涵。文章在跨文化交际的视角下对常见的白色、黑色和红色这三种基本颜色词进行了对比研究,意在揭示它们在英汉文化中的异同,以减少使用中的语用失误,有利于更有效的跨文化交际的顺利进行。
There is a profusion of color terms in both English and Chinese cultures.But because of different cultural backgrounds,all these terms have been endowed with different cultural connotations except for their own basic meanings.From the perspective of intercultural communication,this paper is intended to do a comparative study on three of the basic color terms： white,black and red,aiming to reveal their similarities and differences and reduce the pragmatic failures so that an effective intercultural communication can be conducted smoothly.
