摘要
院校研究是中国高等教育研究最具活力的研究方向,当代高等教育中的诸多重要论题都可以在院校研究的框架内获得深入而卓有成效的讨论。作为一种介于抽象的统一性理论与具体经验性描述之间的研究形态,院校研究与中层理论十分切合。院校变革是院校研究的研究对象,院校变革的政策过程是院校研究的中心论题,制度分析是院校研究的一种主要范式。从单个院校的个案分析到多案例的区域研究和同型研究是院校研究的基本进路。
Institutional Research （IR） is the most dynamic research direction of China＇s higher education research, and many important issues of contemporary higher education can be discussed within the framework of IR thoroughly and effectively. As a form of research between abstract unitary theory and specific empirical description, IR comes so relevant to mid-level theory. The research object of IR is institutional transformation; the core topic of IR is the policy process of institutional transformation; one main paradigm of IR is system analysis; and the basic approach of IR is from individual case study of single institution to multiple cases of area study and homo-type study.
