Object:The model duplication of the animal with scar is to identify the feasibility and reliability of the model in the morphology and the histology and provides a new approach to the basic study of scars.Method: Pieces of hypertrophic scars and keliods were implanted into subcutaneous tissue of the nude mice. The mice carried them for a period of 5 to 120 days. And at the same time, these specimens were compared with the original ones under the light microscope and electron microscope. Results: All mice survived after the surgery .No cell degeneration, necrosis or inflammatory cell infiltration were found under the light microscope in all implants. The collagen pattern of all hypertrophic scars and keloids were remained in every cases.Histologic analysis, confirmed by transmission electron microscope, demonstrates a sustained cellular character. Conclusion: This procedure showed that the viability and morphology of hypertrophic scars and keloids are sustained when they are implanted in nude mice. It is feasible and reliable to use nude mice as the model of the animal with hypertrophic scars and keloids.
