simple rapid method has been developed for determining glycyrrhizic acid in glycyrrhiza andits products. The method is based on the reaction of glycyrrlhizic acid with lead nitrate in a samplesolution of pH 6.5-7.0, to form quantitatively lead glycyrrhizic acid precipitate, then determinethe amount of Pb￣(2+) in the precipitate by AAs, the glycyrrhizic acid can be quantitativelydetermined by Pb￣(2+) calibration curve without standard glycyrrhizic acid.
