摘要
“信、达、雅”是我国近代启蒙思想家、翻译家严复提出的关于翻译的标准,百余年来在我国翻译界反复激起波澜,这说明“信、达、雅”有其强大的生命力;另一方面对“信、达、雅”否定的声音仍不绝于耳,这主要是因为人们对严复提出的翻译标准缺乏足够的认识,也是因为我们对于“信、达、雅”缺乏认识上的引导。文章认为,“信、达、雅”作为翻译标准能展现经久不息的生命力的一个重要原因在于它具有多方面的价值,而这其中就有其天然的美学内涵。
Faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance” is a translation criterion proposed by Yan Fu. The fact that they have repeated heated discussions demonstrates their elasticity in their application. This paper presents a tentative discussion about faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance from the perspective of aesthetics.
