摘要
本研究的目的在于 :1 )通过错误赋码检索 ,分析学习者英语语料库中典型的动名搭配模式中介语特征 ,从而发现学生使用该类动词搭配模式的具体语法及搭配失误 ;2 )统计和描述该模式的搭配结构 ,分析学生在该搭配模式的失误原因 ;3 )讨论本研究之于外语学习和教学的意义。本研究发现 ,学生在词语运用中搭配失误具有显著特征 ,其出错频率比一般语法错误要高得多 ,且搭配失误在语用中造成意义表述含混和交际失败。在所有搭配模式中 ,动名搭配失误最为显著 ,造成这些搭配失误的原因主要来自母语的影响 ,属于负迁移。其变化特征为 ,在搭配模式长度增加时 ,母语影响减弱 ,学生更多地依靠现有的词语和语法知识构成搭配。其对英语词汇和写作教学的意义在于 ,在词汇学习和教学中 ,注重常用词的搭配和用法 ,强调这些词语运用的具体语境和搭配限制 ,有助于学生更有效地学习和掌握词汇 ,并提高他们的写作能力。
The objective of this research is: 1) to discover both the grammatical and collocational misuse of the verb-noun collocation patterns in the COLEC through analysis of the interlanguage features displayed thereof; 2) to explore the causes of such features and errors based on the statistics and description of the patterns of collocation examined; and 3) to suggest the pedagogical implications of the findings. It has been discovered that the college learners have explicit features in their use of verb-noun collocations, which have shown higher frequency of errors than any other collocation patterns, and such errors are more serious than grammatical errors as they cause vagueness and ambiguity in expressions and communication failure. The students' errors in verb-noun collocations have shown that verbs and nouns play crucial roles and create major problems as well in the vocabulary study. The major cause of such errors could be attributed to the negative transfer of the mother tongue. When the patterns of the collocation increase in length, less mother tongue transfer is found as the students rely more on their existent lexical knowledge to fulfill their tasks. The pedagogical implication is that emphasis and concentration on the collocations and usage of the common verbs and nouns in light of their actual context and collocational restrictions will help improve the learners lexical learning efficiency and enhance their writing ability.
