摘要
运用文化人类学和社会学的理论和方法分析了西北地区城市回族社区的变迁 ,认为伴随城市社会的变革 ,回族注定要面对城市化过程中的散居的考验和经受传统向现代化转型的阵痛。传统的衍续是现代化的前提和基础 ,因为传统的断流或传统的缺位 ,现代化就会成为无本之木 ,无源之水。然而 ,自在的传统如果没有主体的文化自觉 ,又必定是死水一潭。因此 。
The paper is a comprehensive analysis, in light of cultural anthropology and sociology, of the evolution of the Muslim communities in Northwest China, concluding that a painful transformation from tradition to modernization is inevitable for the Muslims in an age of rapid urbanization and that the continuation of the traditional values is the very foundation for such transformation and, on the other hand, the active participation of the subject is the key to preventing the tradition from being stagnant.
