摘要
民国时期“大学院”制虽经蔡元培等人的发起与辛苦经营 ,却终究避免不了迅速失败的命运。通过简述“大学院”制的产生及废止的历程 ,并分析其失败的原因 ,意在廓清这一教育制度改革的历史面目。
Despite the initiation and great efforts made by Cai Yuanpei and his associates, the Council of Universities could not have possibly avoided its fate of speedy failure. The aim of this paper is to give a brief account of the process of the emergence and termination of the Council of Universities, analyze its causes of failure and present a fair picture of such reforms in the then education system.
