This paper discusses the evaluation criteria of real-time reference software such as the functions, user friendliness and support services. It summarizes the most important features of real-time reference software as text chatting, web page pushing, co-browsing, transcript management and question routing. The LSSI's VRT and OCLC's Question Point are evaluated based on the above evaluation criteria.
