《伙计》因其精深的思想主题和完美的艺术形式而被推崇为马拉默德的代表作。在这部作品中 ,马拉默德运用了一种独特的艺术形式———犹太幽默。通过分析小说中犹太幽默在人物塑造、主题揭示方面的作用 ,可以从一个新的视角展示马拉默德的创作风格。
The Assistant is recognized as Malamud's masterpiece for its profound theme and perfect form. In the novel, Malamud employed a unique artistic form--the Jewish humor. We should explore the functions of the Jewish humor in character creation and theme exposition so as to present Malamud's artistic style in a new perspective.
