摘要
数字经济作为经济增长的新引擎,正在深刻重塑城镇化的发展范式。本文基于2011—2022年279个地级市面板数据,运用双重机器学习模型,系统考察数字经济对新型城镇化的影响。研究发现,数字经济对新型城镇化发展起到积极作用,同时可以通过提高技术创新水平、促进产业结构升级等机制驱动新型城镇化水平的提升;异质性分析表明,数字经济对新型城镇化的驱动效应存在区域差异,其影响程度由强到弱依次为成渝城市群、长江中游城市群、京津冀城市群、珠三角城市群、长三角城市群,且非老工业基地城市、交通枢纽城市数字经济对新型城镇化的促进作用更强。为强化数字经济对新型城镇化的赋能效应,应优化数字经济发展环境,完善政策支持和治理体系;深化产业数字化转型,促进数字经济赋能;强化技术创新引领,构建数字驱动的产业升级体系。
The digital economy,as a new engine of economic growth,is profoundly reshaping the development paradigm of urbanization.This article employs the panel data from 279 cities during 2011–2022 and a double machine learning model to systematically examine the impact of the digital economy on new-type urbanization.The results show that the digital economy plays a positive role in the development of new-type urbanization and can drive the improvement of new-type urbanization by enhancing technological innovation and promoting industrial structure upgrading.The heterogeneity analysis reveals regional differences in the driving effect of the digital economy on new-type urbanization.The effect is in the descending order of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration,the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River,the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration,the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration,and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration.Moreover,the digital economy has a stronger promoting effect on new-type urbanization in cities of non-old industrial bases and transportation hubs.To enhance the empowering effect of the digital economy on new-type urbanization,we should improve the policy support and governance system to create a favorable environment for the development of the digital economy,advance the digital transformation of industries to enhance the empowering effect of the digital economy,and strengthen the guidance of technological innovation to build a data-driven industrial upgrading system.
