摘要
中国科技典籍作为中华典籍与世界典籍的重要组成部分,不仅是中国科技文明与发展的载体,也为中国同世界的科技文化交流做出了重要贡献。在积极推动中国文化“走出去”的时代背景下,科技典籍英译研究对于中国与世界均有着重要意义。其中,语料库的构建与语料库技术的应用是助推中国科技典籍英译研究及科技典籍“走出去”的重要手段。本文在分析当前科技典籍英译研究中语料库构建及语料库技术应用现状的基础上,阐述语料库的构建与语料库技术的应用对于典籍英译研究、语料库翻译学研究和跨学科研究领域的理论意义,以及在科技典籍平行语料库建设、科技典籍英译教学、术语提取与翻译和双语词典编纂方面的应用意义,进一步从科技典籍英译研究中语料库的构建和语料库技术的应用两个方面提出展望与设想,以期促进语料库与科技典籍英译研究的融合,从而更好地推动中国科技典籍及中国文化“走出去”。
Serving as a significant part of both Chinese and world classics,Chinese sci-tech classics have not only worked as carriers of China’s sci-tech civilization and its development,but also facilitated scientific,technological and cultural exchanges between China and other nations.Studies on the translations of Chinese sci-tech classics are thus of great importance to China and the international community in the context of promoting overseas dissemination of Chinese culture,in which corpus-based studies,consisting of corpus construction and corpus applications,can foster further research and help sci-tech classics go global.This article finds out that incorporating corpus construction and applications into sci-tech classics translation studies presents both theoretical and practical significance based on an analysis of the existing corpus-based studies on the English translation of Chinese sci-tech classics from the aspects of corpus construction and corpus applications.Theoretically,it benefits translation studies on sci-tech classics,corpusbased translation studies,and interdisciplinary studies in much broader senses.Practically,it facilitates corpus construction of sci-tech classics,translation teaching,sci-tech terms extraction,and bilingual dictionary compilation.Then some suggestions are brought forward on constructing and applying corpus in studies on the English translation of sci-tech classics,aiming to advance the combination of corpus and studies on the English translation of Chinese sci-tech classics and accelerate the overseas dissemination of both Chinese sci-tech classics and Chinese culture.
