摘要
伊恩·克拉克作为当代英国学派代表人物之一,对英国学派国际关系理论发展做出了重要贡献。从英国学派的研究议程来看,他通过重新诠释传统英国学派话语中的国际秩序与正当性,以此为基础发展了一种英国学派的霸权理论。在研究方法论上,克拉克运用的历史社会学路径,发扬了英国学派历来重视发掘历史知识对国际关系研究重要价值的传统。此外,针对美国国际关系学界的批评,克拉克的回应是回归古典英国学派的国际思想史研究传统,聚焦于概念史研究路径。他对于正当性、霸权等概念的阐述,对批判和反思国际关系研究的非历史性与非时空性有着重要意义。克拉克的学术思想凸显了英国学派重视人文/历史知识对于国际关系研究的非凡价值,超越了三大范式对理论知识狭隘的理解。
As one of the most prominent scholars of the contemporary English School,Ian Clark has made significant contributions to the development of English School IR theory.Clark reinterpreted the concepts of international order,legitimacy,and hegemony,which served as the basis of his version of hegemonic theory.He also demonstrated the value of historical research as a method by taking advantage of an historical sociology approach that represented the traditional feature of the English School.In response to criticism by U.S.scholars,Clark returned to the history of international thought and focused on the study of conceptual history.This article suggests that Clark’s research criticizes and helps us to reflect on the ahistorical and atemporal aspects of IR studies.Ian Clark’s thought demonstrates that the English School pays particular attention to humanities and historical knowledge in IR research and has transcended the three paradigms of IR theories.
