摘要
希腊—西方的人文理想始终贯穿着自由的理念 ,其人文形式是科学和理性。科学作为西方的人文 ,是自由的学问。近代西方发展起来的“唯人主义” (人道主义 )人文传统 ,由于把世界置于一个以人为原点的坐标系之中 ,有可能从根本上背离“自由”这个古典人文理想 ;西方近代科学作为希腊科学传统的继承者和现代工业社会的奠基者 ,不仅保留了理性形式和自由精神 ,而且增加了实用的目的 ,以其效用服务于人类。在某种更深的意义上 ,近代科学的两大传统———理性与经验共同受制于技术理性这种新的理性形式。事实上 ,近代科学与人文一方面随着专业化和学科分化而互相隔离 ;另一方面又共同构成“现代性”的基础。弘扬科学精神 ,弘扬的应是本质上就是人文精神的科学精神 。
The Greek-Occidental humanistic ideal has always been permeated with the principle of freedom and its humanistic forms, science and reason. As one of the Occidental humanistic forms, science, is a branch of knowledge of freedom. The humanism developed in modern times puts the world in a coordinate system with man at the origin, which may harm freedom in a radical way. As an inheritor of the Greek scientific tradition and the foundation of modern industrial society, Western modern science not only retains the form of reason, and the free spirit, but also acquires a practical purpose, that of serving mankind with its efficiency. In a deeper sense, the traditions of science, reason and experience, are constrained by the new form of reason-technological reason. On the one hand, modern science and the humanities have become more and more separated from each other with the specialization and division of disciplines, on the other hand, they have also joined hands to become the basis of modernity. By carrying forward the scientific spirit we mean to advance it, which is, in essence, the humanistic spirit, the spirit of freedom.
