Biochemistry teaching covers a large number of boring and abstract metabolic reactions. It is a practical problem for all Biochemistry teachers of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) colleges whose teaching objects are those traditional Chinese medicine students with comparatively weak foundations, to achieve the goal of teaching with the limited teaching hours. Mind map, as a tool for visualizing the brain's thinking process, is consistent with the human brain's way of thinking. The application of mind map in teaching activities of Biochemistry teaching in traditional Chinese medicine colleges was proposed in this research. In the teaching case of triglyceride catabolism, the teaching design based on mind mapping was researched to guide the students to use the mind map as a tool for learning, to improve student’s ability of collecting and summarizing the message, and improve the teaching and learning effect in TCM Biochemistry classroom, provide the strategy of how to guide students use mind map in the teaching process.
