Expression and clinical significance of ATF-3 in breast carcinoma

摘要 目的:探讨激活转录因子-3(ATF-3)在乳腺癌组织中的表达及临床意义。方法:采用免疫组化法检测ATF-3在乳腺浸润性导管癌、导管原位癌和癌旁乳腺组织中的表达情况及其与乳腺癌临床病理特征间的关系。结果:ATF-3在乳腺浸润性导管癌、导管原位癌及癌旁乳腺组织中的阳性表达率分别为80.95%(85/105)、48.98%(24/49)和11.43%(12/105),乳腺浸润性导管癌组ATF-3的阳性表达率显著高于导管原位癌组和癌旁乳腺组织,导管原位癌组ATF-3的阳性表达率显著高于癌旁乳腺组织,差异均具有统计学意义(P<0.016 7)。ATF-3的表达与乳腺癌的组织学分级、淋巴结转移及临床分期相关,而与患者年龄及肿瘤大小无关。结论:ATF-3与乳腺癌的发生、发展、侵袭和转移有关,可能作为预测乳腺癌恶性程度和评估乳腺癌患者预后的重要指标。 Objective:To study the expression and clinical significance of activating transcription factor-3 (ATF-3) in breast carcinoma.Methods:The expression of ATF-3 was detected in 105 cases of primary breast invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC),49 cases of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and 105 cases of para-tumor breast tissues using immunohistochemistry assay and the relationship between the expression of ATF-3 and the clinical pathological features of breast carcinoma was evaluated.Results:IHC analysis showed that the positive rate expression of ATF-3 in invasive ductal breast carcinoma,ductal carcinoma in situ and para-tumor breast tissues were 80.95%(85/105),48.98%(24/49) and 11.43%(12/105),respectively.Positive rate of the expression of ATF-3 in IDC was much higher than that in other groups and the expression of ATF-3 in DCIS was much higher than that in para-tumor breast tissues (P〈0.016 7).Furthermore,ATF-3 expression showed a significant correlation with histopathologic grade,lymph node metastasis and pTNM stage,and did not correlated with patients' age and tumor size.Conclusion:The overexpression of ATF-3 may participate in the tumorigenesis,invasion and metastasis of breast carcinoma,and ATF-3 may play an important role in the prognosis evaluation of breast carcinoma patients.
