Objective To investigate the transcription factors GATA-3 expression in breast cancer tissue and its clinical value. Methods A total of 382 cases of breast cancer in our hospital from May 1,2013 to November 1,2015 were selected as the research subjects and divided into the breast malignant tumor tissue group(254 cases),breast benign tumor tissue group(58cases) and breast paracancerous tissue group(70 cases). The GATA-3 expression levels were comparatively observed in various groups. The relationship between GATA-3 expression with breast cancer morphological classification and between GATA-3 expression with the clinicopathological features of breast cancer were analyzed. Results The GATA-3 expression positive rates in breast malignant tumor tissue was 79.53%(202/254). The GATA-3 positive rate in the 3-negative type breast cancer cells was lower than that in the glandular lumen type A and B,HER-2 overexpression type, and the differences were statistically significant(P〈0.05). GATA-3 was expressed in invasive ductal cancer tissue, invasive lobular cancer tissue and neuroendocrine cancer tissue, while not expressed in diffuse large B cell lymphoma and malignant spindle cells tumor tissues. Conclusion The pathological classification and pathological type of breast tumor in breast cancer cells is closely related with GATA-3 expression. Therefore,GATA-3 has an important role in the diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer.
