Some reliability calculation formulas and a reliability growth model for large capacity fossil fired generating units of power stations are presented. The reliability assessment indeses for a unit or some units of power stations, a method for estimating the parameters and testing the reliability growth model fitting quality are given together with statistical results for reliability indexes and analysis results for reliability growth of large capacity fossil fired generating units for Huangtai Power Plant.
