摘要
欧洲的文艺复兴运动将古希腊罗马文化重新发掘出来并加以深入的研究和广泛的传播。作为希腊罗马文化的重要组成部分 ,希腊罗马神话对欧洲文学产生了深远的影响。英国文学作为欧洲文学的代表之一 ,和有着渊源关系的美国文学都深深打上了希腊罗马神话的印记。要深刻理解和领会英美文学 ,以便更深刻地了解英语语言和文化就应当了解希腊罗马神话。
The ancient Greek and Roman culture was excavated in Renaissance Movement and was deeply studied and widely disseminated. As an important component part of the culture, Greek and Roman myths have exerted profound influence on European literature. As one of the representatives of European literature, British literature,together with American literature,has been deeply stamped with the mark of Greek and Roman myths.To have a better understanding and appreciation of English literature,American Literature,English language and culture,we must get familiar with Greek and Roman myths.
