In this paper,laser surface quenching on HT200 and 45 steel has been perfirmed with a 2KW CO 2 laser.The structure,hardness and deepth of the hardening layer have been researched.It has been discovered that the parsmeter q influences on laser surface quenching of common steel and iron.
