摘要
教学定位、教学目标和四、六级考试是大学英语教学研究的重要内容,也是引发颇多争论的话题。结合大学英语教学现状,分析综合英语向专门用途英语或学术英语转型的趋势,"读写为主"和"听力领先"的利弊以及四、六级考试的走向,可以看出,改进大学英语教学,既需要在大学英语课程体系中突出专门用途英语或学术英语课程,也需要将培养英语综合能力作为根本目标。同时建议高校弱化四、六级考试要求,开发英语校本课程和校本考试。
Teaching orientation, teaching objectives and CET 4/6 are the three major controversial concerns in the previous College English teaching inquiries. Based on the status quo of College English teaching in China and reflections on the transformation trend from EGP to ESP/EAP, the two dominant teaching objectives in the history of Chinese College English teaching and the future development of CET 4/6, some suggestions to improve College English teaching are put forward： Give a larger proportion to EGAP and ESAP courses in College English curriculum, establish comprehensive English competency as an ultimate objective and cultivate school-based curriculum and exams to de-emphasize CET4/6.
