Optimally Design of Ball Sealer in Downhole Application

摘要 封堵球密封副是常用的井下工具密封形式,目前设计主要依靠个人经验,缺乏理论指导,密封性能难以保证。提出了基于密封副接触应力(比压)和接触宽度的设计方法,模拟分析了密封副几何结构参数和密封副材料特性对密封性能的影响规律,为封堵球密封结构的设计与应用提供理论指导。结果表明:采用小半锥角设计可以同时增大密封比压和接触宽度,从而提高密封性能;选用较高弹性模量的封堵球材料可以提高密封比压,并减小接触宽度。 Ball sealer is a kind of sealing method widely used in downhole tool. However,the ball sealer is designed mostly depending on personal experience. The sealing property of the sealer is hard to be controlled. In this paper, an optimally design method based on the sealing mechanism of bali sealer is proposed. The effect of geometry parameters and ball material on sealing property is studied by the model. It shows the way of improving the sealing property and provides a guide for sealer designing and application. The result shows that higher semi-cone angle is benefit to better sealing property. Ball materials in high elastic modulus are benefit for higher sealing specific pres- sure and narrower contact width.
