The Miao myth constructs a poetic picture in which man lives harmoniously with nature. It implies the ancient Chinese aesthetic thought of "the unity of heaven and man" (celestial one) , and shows an aesthetic environment in which man relies on, co-exists and lives together with his object. Meanwhile, this harmony is al- so embodied internally with the spirit of man. This paper intends to take the myth about moon god, the giant stone, the Chinese sweet gum totem, and the bird totem as examples, to observe and study the Miao myth again from the angle of ecological aesthetics so as to unearth further the ecological wisdom embodied in the Miao myth.
