摘要
经丝裂霉素C发和CsCl密度梯度离心,得到了短小芽孢杆菌(Bacillus pumilus)噬菌体PPO。该噬菌体具有典型的20面体的头部,长而可收缩尾鞘的尾,尾鞘的下端附有基板及尾丝。噬菌体 DNA 的限制核酸内切酶酶切电泳及其与宿主基因组 DNA 之间的分子杂交结果证明,噬菌体 PPO 颗粒内包裹的是寄主 DNA,因而它是一缺陷噬菌体。
Defective bacteriophage PPO in B.pu-milus was prepared by mitomycin C induction,followed by CsCl density gradient centrifuga-tion.The morphology of the phage consistsof isosahedral head,tail with contractablesheath,and base plate with fibles attached todistal of the sheath.The result of hybridiza-tion of DNA extracted from phage particleswith host DNA labeled with ^(32)P showed thatwere homologous.Therefore author consider-ed bacteriophage PPO is a defective one inB.pumilus.
