摘要
隐喻不仅是一种修辞手段,而且是一种思维方式和文化反映,不同文化背景下的隐喻蕴涵着各民族特有的文化内涵和思维方式。隐喻翻译不仅要译出原文的形象、喻义,还要译出其民族特色和地域色彩。本文简单介绍了隐喻的历史和本质,分析了文化与隐喻的关系及文化差异对隐喻的影响,并通过实例讨论了不同文化背景下隐喻互译的基本方法。
Metaphor, as a rhetorical device, also reflects a certain culture and its thinking patterns. Therefore, when translating metaphors we should convey not only the original images and allegorical meanings, but also the original implicated features of a certain nationality or region. After a brief introduction of the history and essence of metaphors, this paper analyzes cultural impacts on metaphors and explores with examples some basic approaches to translating cultural metaphors.
