珠江三角洲地区河涌密布的自然条件、敬奉神灵的传统习俗及浓郁的地方文化氛围,使得当地龙舟活动体现出明显的区域特点。珠江三角洲传统龙舟活动的娱乐性、竞技性和协作性特点决定其具有大众化文化特性。年复一年大众化龙舟活动的顺利开展见证了珠江三角洲地区民众的团结精神与集体力量。类似的精神力量就是满足珠江三角洲地区城乡进一步发展所需的文化软实力要素。
