Against the backdrop of an increasingly commodified, spectacularized, and disciplined tourism industry,a growing number of tourists are actively deviating from standardized itineraries by engaging in localized living practices to seek travel experiences woven into the fabric of local life.Integrating Michel de Certeau's theory of everyday life practices as micro-level resistance with James C.Scott's conception of the long-term social impact of hidden resistance, this study foregrounds"everyday"as both the practical foundation and affective driver of resistance. In the tourism context, everyday resistance refers to tourists'micro-practices within the capillaries of power.Through unobtrusive and non-confrontational daily behaviors, they adapt and reshape the meaning of mainstream culture and commercialized tourism.Drawing on a strategy-tactic framework, the study identifies four interrelated localized living practices:affective(bodily and aesthetic attunement to place),extensional(integration of travel into everyday routines),suturing(symbolic adjustment across institutional and role boundaries),and generative(creative embeddedness and affective belonging). These practices form a continuous spectrum through which tourists negotiate discipline and resist alienation within a commodified order.Furthermore, the analysis uncovers a processual trajectory of symbolic,micro-level everyday resistance. This trajectory begins with the recognition of everyday behaviors, proceeds through the tactical appropriation of local orders and social rhythms, and unfolds through four interrelated directions of practice:rhythmic attunement, identity suturing, life extension, and the generation of belonging. This process demonstrates the subtle and flexible nature of everyday resistance.Through unobtrusive acts of bodily re-attunement and perceptual reconstruction, tourists quietly generate a form of everyday culture imbued with symbolic meaning.Such resistance is not a direct confrontation but a micro-practice embedded within the fabric of daily life.It reshapes order, sutures identity, and nurtures new possibilities of subjectivity and affective attachment through life-oriented ways of living. In this sense, the localization of everyday tourism is not merely an extension of lifestyle but a micro-form of resistance embedded within the consumer system. This study not only expands the theoretical lens of everyday resistance within tourism sociology but also provides a novel interpretive framework and empirical foundation for understanding the cultural strategies and social meanings embedded in contemporary tourism practices.
