Three Cu·Zn SODs from the cytosol of Allium schoenoprasum L.have been purified to homogeneity by ammonium sulfate precipitation,gel filtration on Sephadex G 200 and chromatography on DEAE Sephacel.SOD Ⅰ,SOD Ⅱ and SOD Ⅲ all gave ultraviolet absorption maximum around 268 nm and visible absorption maximum around 670 nm.Of the three SODs,the molecular weights were 31 600,31 200 and 33 100;the subunit molecular weights were 16 000,16 200 and 16 400;the isoelectric points were 6.10,6.10 and 5.90;the N terminal amino acids were all alanine.Their heat stability was fine.SOD Ⅰ and SOD Ⅱ were very similar.There were some differences between them and SOD Ⅲ on isoelectric points,sensitivity to KCN or heat,the quantity in cytosol and electrophoretograms of nondenaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
