ON THE THERMAL STABILITY AND OXIDATION BEHAVIOUR OF ALUMINIUM OXYNITRIDE (AION) POWDER

摘要 研究了氢氧化铝(AION)尖晶石粉在1330~1730℃的石墨压力炉中,N2和N2+CO气氛(压力0.2和5MPa)条件下的热稳定性以及在900℃,1200℃的大气和氧气中的氧化行为.在石墨护中保温6h后,A10N的成份变化很大,表明通常在低于1630℃时,AION是不稳定的.在大气中,低于600℃时AION是稳定的.在1200℃时,只需几个小时即可完全氧化.而在中间温度的大气和氧气中,成份-时间曲线是S形的,表明氧化是从生核开始的。 The thermal stability of aluminium oxynitride (AION) spinel powder has been inves-tigated by heat-treatment of small samples in a gas autoclave with a graphite furnace at different pressures (0.2 and 5 MPa) and temperatures (1330~1730℃) in N2 and N2+10% CO. Oxidation Stud-ies of AION powder were pedermed in an alumina tube furnace by heat-treatment of samples in airor oxygen at constant temperatures between 900 and 1200℃. In the graphite furnace. significantcompositional shifts were obtained after 6h annealing, showing that AION is thermodynamically un-Stable below ~1630℃ under the prevailing conditions. In air, AION powder is stable up to 900℃,but at 1200℃ full oxidation was accomplished in a few hours. At intermediate temperatures in air and oxygen, the composition vs time curves have a sigmoid shape, suggesting that the oxidation process is preceded by a nucIeation stage, which also manifested itself in appreciable u induction periods'.
