The relationship among the writer, the text, and the reader is the main topic in the Western Hermeneutics, which can be divided into three stages: writercentered theory, reader-centered theory and text-centered theory. The Sad Zither, the masterpiece of Li Shangyin, has been read and loved by poem fans for its elusory images and frequent use of the quotations, in which the translators can exert their creativity. Making a detailed analysis on the Western Hermeneutics and the pluralities in interpreting the Sad Zither can demonstrate the theoretical significance of Hermeneutics in translation of Chinese poems because it is the plurality of interpretation that results in different translation versions.
