摘要
经验主义语义观认为,意义认知是人类对世界的范畴化和概念化过程。许多隐喻意义来自源域向目标域的意义映射,范畴之间存在着意义关系。有限语言表达无限意义主要通过范畴之间的映射,从而实现语义的扩展。基于概念结构和认知语法分析,语义扩展不是任意的,受语法和认知限制,扩展的语义在认知系统中才具有可理解性。
According to experientialism, meaning cognition is a process of categorization and conceptualization of the world. Many metaphorical meanings are produced by mapping the source domain to the target domain. There exist semantic relations among categories. It is the mapping between categories that causes semantic extension and enables us to understand infinite meanings with finite language forms. As conceptual structure and cognitive grammar are concerned, semantic extension is not arbitrary and is under graimnatical and cognitive constraints, so the extended meaning is understandable in cognitive system.
