From the bulbs of Lilium brownii,a new steroidal saponin was isolated.On the basis of detailed analysis of spectroscopic data (FABMS,IR,1HNMR,13CNMR,DEPT,HMQC,HMBC)and its physicochemical properties,its structure was deduced as 26OβDglucopyranosyl 3β,26dihydroxy cholestan16,22dioxo 3OαLrhamnopyranosyl(1→2)βDglucopyranoside.It has not been reported in literature.
