The distribution of NOS and Parvalbumin (PV) in Rat's Retina was Observed by the double staining technique of NADPH-diaphorase histochemical and PV immunohistochemical method The results showed that NOS positive nurons mainly located in the second row of inner nuclear layer (INL). The diameter of the cells were from 8?m to 12μm. Their processes extended toward inner plexiform layer (IPL) and located in 1st、3rd、5th sublamina, especially 3rd sublamina. The PV immunoreactive (PV~Ⅰ) neurons mainly distributed in the innermost row of INL, the other were in the second row and the middle of INL, and the ganglion cell layer (GCL). The diameter of PV~Ⅰ neurons were from 6μm to 10μm Their processes extend toward IPL and located in 1st、5th sublamina. In the second row of INL there were a little double staining neurons. The results suggested that NOS positive neurons and PV~Ⅰ neurons were different subtype of amacrine cells. Some PV~Ⅰ neurons belonged in ganglion cells. The double staining cells may be another subtype of amacrine cells. It was indicated that NOS and PV maintained close relations in the vision transfer.
