摘要
通过回顾我国两次较大规模的英语词汇量的调查和对非英语专业学生词汇量要求、英语教学的历史过程及词汇学习策略研究,发现:1)对我国大学生英语词汇量的要求偏低;2)不同时期有着不同的教学法占主导地位。而不同的教学法会影响着词汇教学在外语学习中的地位;3)我国对词汇学习策略的研究并不多,尤其是对词汇记忆策略的研究更是少之又少;4)学生词汇学习存在功利主义和习得词汇的意义缺损等问题。最后提出了应就词汇记忆策略做更多的实验和实证研究以期总结出适合我国学生的英语词汇记忆策略等四条建议。
After reviewing the two largo-scale surveys on vocabulary size of our college students, the vocabulary requirements set for non-English majors, English teaching history in China and studies on vocabulary learning strategies, the paper has made the follow'rag findings: 1)The vocabulary size set for our college students is assumed to be small. 2)Different teaching approaches became dominant in different periods. 3) Not so many researches on vocabulary learning strategies have been done. As a consequence, the studies concerning vocabulary memory strategies were found particularly fewer in China. 4) Point out problems like utilitarianism existing in students' vocabulary learning and inadequate word meanings acquired by students. The paper concludes with 4 suggestions, one of which is that more experimental and empirical studies should be done on vocabulary memorization strategies so as to find the suitable ones for Chinese English learners.
