摘要
本文从大学职能的角度,总结了美国研究型大学职能发展四个方面的经验:不断强化“科研为主”的职能,把“纯科学”的基础研究与应用研究有机结合起来;强调教学职能,传承自由教育传统,以通识教育和整合教育对本科教育进行重建;不断拓展社会服务职能,从被动的服务到主动的市场化创业;正确处理各种职能关系。这些经验对我国一流大学的建设具有重要的指导意义。
his article summarizes four first is to strengthen the research function in experiences on the functions of American research universities. The creasingly and integrate the "pure" basic research with applied research; the second is to emphasize the teaching function to follow the liberal education tradition, and to reconstruct undergraduate education through general education; the third is to develop the service function, which is to change passive service to facing the market actively; the fourth is to harmonize various functions. These experiences of American research universities have great implication to Chinese higher education.
