摘要
本文根据心理学中个性倾向性的有关理论,从世界观、动机、理想三个方面入手,探究在当时的社会历史背景下辜鸿铭从事儒经翻译活动背后的深层动因,从而促进对译者主体性的研究。
Gu Hongming, a scholar of Qing dynasty, was well-known for his great contributions to the introduction of Chinese traditional culture into the West. Through an analysis of Gu＇ s personality orientation from the following three aspects： world outlook, motivation and ideal, this paper attempts to explore the root causes for Gu＇ s translation of the Chinese Confucian classics against the social background of westernization, which can promote the study on the subjectivity of the translator.
