Applying DSC method and several classic equations e.g. Fox, Gordon-Taylor and Kwei, to estimate the Tg for cellulose/poly(ethylene glycol) blend, results showed that this blend's Tg is strongly influenced by the ratio of these two components, and this Tg was generally reduced with the increase of the cellulose percent in blend. According to DSC results, a model was deduced that might be available to describe above mentioned regulation between the ratio of two polymer components and blend's Tg such as Tg=A-B × Ln(WCell/WPEG). Additionally, a comparison of mentioned classic equations with DSC results suggested that of these equations only the Fox Eq. seems to be acceptable due to presented similar tendency as DSC plot.
