The new standard for food safety management system is intended to ensure that there are no weak links in food supply chains. As food safety hazards can be introduced at any stage of the food chain, adequate control throughout the food chain is essential. What's new in this standard, what are the benefits and challenge for users and stakeholders, how it harmonizes the national standards at an international level, and how will the standard develop over the future, these aspects were analysized by Alice Law, the lead auditor of BVQI, in this article.
