摘要
二十世纪初年正是近代中国新式教育体系肇始之期。作为清末江苏最后一任学政与清政府最后一任学部大臣,唐景崇为清末江苏以及整个清末教育变革经历了一个从趋新到力求新旧调和的过程。虽然他的努力并没有实现他的宪政理想的初衷,也不可能挽救晚清王朝覆灭的命运,但其在位期间所推出的一系列的政策与措施为近代教育的发展奠定了一定的基础。
There was the period of initiation of Modern educational system in the early 20st Century. As the last Xuezheng in Jiangsu Province and the last Minister of Educational Ministry in Late Qing, Tang Jingchong experienced a process from tendencies towards new things to compromise between new and old in the educational reform in Jiangsu and the whole Late Qing. Although he had not realized his ideal of constitutional politics and saved the fortune of the Late Qing, all these policies which promulgated during his tenure of office laid a foundation for the development of Modern educational reform.
