摘要
当代文化研究主要有两大研究范式,分别为活跃于欧洲的文化结构范式和主导美国的多元政治范式。前者把文化看成一种结构,强调应从互动的角度对结构的每个部分进行考察;后者则倾向于用政治术语来思考文化问题,且带有很强的政治目的。当今文化翻译研究(或称文化学派)的理论深受这两大范式的引导:欧洲文化学派的理论带有很明显的文化结构范式的痕迹,而北美文化学派的理论则深受多元政治范式的影响。
Based on the summary of the main research areas of cultural studies, the present paper suggests that there are two dominant research paradigms in contemporary cultural studies： the European cultural structure paradigm and the American multipolitical paradigm. The former regards culture as a structure and gives primacy to the idea of studying the components of the cultural structure from an interactive perspective, while the latter tends to think of culture in political terms and has a political agenda. Grounded on the analysis of some mainstream theories of the cultural schools of translation studies, the paper examines how these theories are influenced by the two research paradigms of cultural studies.
