摘要
车牌图像定位是自动车牌识别系统的关键步骤。根据车牌特征,首先经过图像预处理,然后进行数学形态学操作,并设计了一种简便的车牌区域搜索算法进行粗定位,最后根据字符边缘特征进行精定位。实验表明该方法定位时间较短,定位效果较好。
Vehicle license plate locating is of vital importance in automatic LPR(license plate recognition) system. With the license plate feature, first, image preprocessing is adopted , which is then followed by mathematical morphology operations. Next, a simple license plate searching algorithm is designed to get coarse location. In the end , an exact location is obtained according to the characteristics of character edge. The results of the experiment show that the algorithm possesses advantages of fast locating speed and high percentage accuracy.
