摘要
翻译实践的中心问题是寻求等值成分。形式对等的翻译以原语为中心,力求使接受语中的信息尽可能地接近原语中的各种成分,最大限度地显示原文中的形式与内容。要达到真正的形式对等,必须用目的语中的对应形式结构来替代源语中的形式结构。四字结构是汉语中特有的一种语言形式,其翻译不同于其他语言形式的翻译。在四字结构的汉英翻译中,也能实现一定程度上的形式对等。
The central task of translation-practice is to find TL translation equivalents.Formal equivalence is concerned that the message in the TL should match as closely as possible the different elements in the SL,which is closely oriented towards the SL structure(Nida,1964;159).Real formal equivalence should be realized by replacing the linguistic forms in the source language with the correspondent linguistic forms in the target language.Four-character expressions are a unique language form in Chinese and the translation of them is different from that of many other language forms.In the English translation of Chinese four-character expressions,formal equivalence can be realized to some extent.
