摘要
葡萄牙来中国的耶稣会士高慎思,长期在中国钦天监从事天文工作,又两次与何国宗、明安图等人到新疆从事地图测绘, 1780年升为钦天监西洋监正职务, 1788年死于任上。他对中国天文学和地图测绘学做出一定贡献。
P.José de Espinha, who came to China as member of the Society of Jesus form Portugal, was engaged in astronomy in China for a long time, during which he as well as He Guozong, Ming Antu and others went twice to Xinjiang for topgraphical survey, In 1780 he was promoted to be first supervisor in charge of Imperial Western affairs and astronomy. In 1788 he died while working. He made some contributions to China’s astronomy and China’s cartography.
