编辑在学术期刊中负有重要的社会职责,他应该正确把握期刊的政治方向,遵纪守法,用法律、法规和纪律约束编辑行为;应当尽可能预防学术腐败和伪科学传播;应当与时俱进,通过自学和继续教育,不断提高编辑能力和素质,并通过对稿件的审读、删节、补遗、纠错、勘校等手段,忠实地履行自己的社会职责,使学术期刊真正承担起“认识世界,传承文明,创新理论,咨政育人,服务社会”的神圣职能。
An editor has important social responsibility for the learned journals. He should direct the journal properly and keep his editing within the bounds of the law, rules and regulations. He should do his best to prevent the academic corruption and the spread of the pseudoscience. He should keep up with the age and promote his editing ability and quality by teaching himself and continued education. He should carry out his social duties by means of editing, adding, checking and correcting so that the learned journals can perform the function of learning the world, spreading the culture, creating new theories, educating people and serving the society.
