摘要
本文从华裔美国文学论战中的真伪论入手 ,分析了华美文学与中国传统文化的关系。华裔作家在其创作中对中国文化资源的利用不是为了保持中国文化传统的真实性 ,而是以美国价值尺度为标准 ,改编甚至篡改其祖先文化传统 。
Taking the Chinese American literary debate over ″the real versus the fake″ as its point of departure, this paper presents an analysis of the relationship between Chinese American literature and traditional Chinese culture. It argues that Chinese American writers do not mean to preserve an authentic Chinese culture when they make use of Chinese cultural resources. Ultimately, they appropriate their ancestral cultural heritage in accordance with American values so as to construct a Chinese American ethnicity that is different from but equal to the mainstream in multicultural America.
