Spatial Agency as an Alternative Approach to Indigenous Tactical Urban Design:A Case Study of the Open-Air Lab

Climate crises necessitate adaptive,cost-effective,and community-driven strategies to enhance urban resilience.Tactical urban design,which includes temporary and experimental interventions,is becoming increasingly vital,particularly in indigenous contexts.This study explores the spatial agency approach within tactical urbanism,emphasizing low-technology techniques,indigenous knowledge,and decentralized design as active elements in transforming public spaces.It aims to review recent trends and alternative tactical strategies in indigenous settings while identifying the attributes and mechanisms that contribute to the creation of sustainable public spaces through spatial agency.Employing an interpretive qualitative methodology that includes case studies and content analysis,the research focuses on the Open-Air Lab in Dakar,Senegal(Codesign Lab,Paolo Cascone).This project,a small-scale public infrastructure initiative born from participatory design,exemplifies a hybrid model that combines traditional craftsmanship,low-tech digital fabrication,and environmentally conscious solutions.The findings indicate that framing spatial agency as an actor-network process brings marginalized actors and practices to the forefront,fostering empowerment,social synergy,and climate-responsive design.The study advocates for a shift in tactical urban design from ephemeral placemaking toward long-term,adaptive strategies grounded in local materiality,community engagement,knowledge systems,and decentralized networks.These insights reshape the understanding of urban adaptability and provide practical guidance for architects and planners aiming to create inclusive,climate-resilient public spaces in indigenous and Global South contexts. 展开更多

Language plays a significant role in business,trade and commerce.Bargaining in open-air markets often involves the speech act of negotiating,compromising and manoeuvring,which could either result in conflict or persuasion of the potential buyer to patronize a seller.This article examined the sociolinguistic aspects of language use between sellers and buyers in Ipata,a popular market in Ilorin,north-central Nigeria.The call strategy,spiel,honorification,pragmatic mechanics as well as sociolinguistic style employed by vendors were observed.The objectives of the study were to:identify the number of languages used in Ipata market;investigate the factors that influence the choice of any of the languages used between sellers and buyers at a particular time;analyze their sociolinguistic and stylistic features;and discuss some of the barriers that could cause intercultural communication breakdown between sellers and buyers in a market situation.Oral interview,systematic observation and Bauman’s(2001)method of street recording were used to gather data for the study.Sixty-five people comprising thirty-six females and twenty-nine males were interviewed.The survey which spanned three months discovered that open-air markets bear some universal features,however,due to cultural relativity,variations occur.To this end,it was established that Ipata market harbours different languages;it also identified calls and spiels with their characteristic stylistic,sociolinguistic and discourse features in the market.In conclusion,the study argued that studying the verbal discourse of marketplaces is significant as it defines what the language-culture-society-relationship is all about. 展开更多

Open-Air Quarries in the Urban Commune of Zinder (South-East Niger): An Opportunity with Strong Externalities

The framing of this theme would contribute to a better analysis of the benefits of open-air quarrying in Zinder, and should make it possible to understand and measure the socio-environmental externalities of this type of activity in an urban environment. The approach method consisted of carrying out surveys combined with field observations and interviews with the various stakeholders as well as the local population. The results obtained made it possible to identify both positive and negative impacts. The positive impacts are above all the advantages derived from these aggregate quarries, in particular, the creation of direct and permanent jobs and the increase in community income. The price of piling up a truck costs around 28,000 CFA ($56 CAN) and that of loading is around 10,000 F CFA ($20 CAN). This has the effect of removing young people (20 - 39 years old) from the circuit of migration outside the region and even the country. The possibility of using the extraction sites by the local population was identified, in terms of profits relating to fish farming, off-season crops, animal drinking and reclaimed plots. The study also noted negative externalities, such as the temptation of young boys to become involved in extractive activities for immediate gains at the expense of school attendance. Added to this is the upheaval in the topography of the urban landscape, pollution and nuisances (noise, visual and olfactory), while the disappearance or clogging of quarry ponds is the cause of frequent flooding in the neighborhoods. In short, corrective measures (e.g. the revegetation of sites) certainly make it possible to minimize the harmful impacts on the urban environment. But, to improve the performance and organizational capacity of the quarrying industry in Niger, even stronger regulation, training and awareness of stakeholders prove to be the necessary measures. 展开更多

Fabricating organic solar cells(OSCs)in open-air and room-temperature environments is essential for cost-effective roll-to-roll printing,but its performance is limited by non-ideal block and surface morphology of active layer.Herein,we demonstrate a record power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 19.72%in open-air and as-cast processed devices by using a lowcost terpolymer donor(PTQ20-5)to optimize the block and surface morphology.Compared with the counterpart PTQ10,PTQ20-5 shows increased hydrophobicity,which can better prevent the intrusion of H_(2)O molecules in the film formation process in open-air environment,giving excellent humidity tolerance of corresponding devices.Moreover,the enhanced dielectric constant results in reduced exciton binding energy and improved charge transport of PTQ20-5,leading to improved charge separation and transfer,and suppressed carrier recombination in the devices.Besides,the PTQ20-5-based film has more appropriate block morphological features of balanced molecular self-assembly and phase separation,which simultaneously promotes the charge carrier transport and inhibits the carrier recombination at the donor/acceptor interface.This work is of great significance for promoting the industrialization of OSCs. 展开更多

Synergistic effect between h-BN and MoS_(2)for excellent lubrication of solid lubricant coating for high-temperature,open-air-system applications

High-temperature solid lubricant coatings with decent lubrication performance are essential in critical processes of metal forming and aerospace.However,their preparation is formidably challenging due to the harsh working conditions.Here,we successfully developed a solid lubricant coating via a facile and eco-friendly approach by casting a homogeneous mixture of molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))and hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)as lubricants,silicate as the binder,and water as the solvent onto a titanium alloy substrate.This solid lubricant coating exhibited excellent and stable tribological properties with a very low coefficient of friction(COF)of 0.080 at 1,000℃,yet in an open-air atmosphere.This superior lubrication behavior is attributed to the synergistic effect between the base lubricants h-BN and MoS_(2),contributing to the formation of a coating for both lubrication and lubricant protection against oxidation at 1,000℃in an open-air environment.This work largely extends the operation temperature range of the crucial lubricant MoS_(2)in an open-air atmosphere and further sheds valuable light on the design of high-temperature solid lubricants via the synergistic effect between base lubricants. 展开更多

露天矿边坡地质条件复杂,滑坡影响因素多样,随露天矿体开采进程推进,边坡形态、开采力学响应状态等均会发生改变,因此需要结合实际工况,考虑开采深度等因素对滑坡风险区域演化进行综合评价。本文基于地勘资料及露天采场等高线模型,利用3... 露天矿边坡地质条件复杂,滑坡影响因素多样,随露天矿体开采进程推进,边坡形态、开采力学响应状态等均会发生改变,因此需要结合实际工况,考虑开采深度等因素对滑坡风险区域演化进行综合评价。本文基于地勘资料及露天采场等高线模型,利用3Dmine-Rhino7-FLAC3D等软件建立2023—2026年露天采场数值计算模型;利用现场监测与数值模拟相结合的方法分析采场边坡在开采扰动下的力学响应;提取应力-应变分析结果,结合坡度、高程、坡向等指标采用加权信息量法综合评价2023—2026各年边坡风险区域,并探究其演化规律。结果表明:采场2023年开采的数值模拟结果与现场监测结果具有较好的一致性;在开采过程中,应力逐渐向主要开采区域转移,边坡变形逐渐增加;考虑开采力学响应、地质条件等因素开展滑坡风险综合评价,在开采过程中风险区域的演化与扩张规律与开采进程有较好的一致性,最终得到滑坡风险区域的演化结果:高风险区域起初在北帮及西北帮滋生,逐渐向西帮以及西南帮推进,最后扩展至东南帮。 展开更多

Organic solar cells(OSCs)have emerged as a promising solution for sustainable energy production,offering advantages such as a low carbon footprint,short energy payback period,and compatibility with eco-solvents.However,the use of hazardous solvents continues to dominate the best-performing OSCs,mainly because of the challenges of controlling phase separation and domain crystallinity in eco-solvents.In this study,we combined the solvent vapor treatment of CS2 and thermal annealing to precisely control the phase separation and domain crystallinity in PM6:M-Cl and PM6:O-Cl systems processed with the eco-solvent o-xylene.This method resulted in a maximum power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 18.4%,which is among the highest values reported for sustainable binary OSCs.Furthermore,the fabrication techniques were transferred from spin coating in a nitrogen environment to blade printing in ambient air,retaining a PCE of 16.0%,showing its potential for high-throughput and scalable production.In addition,a comparative analysis of OSCs processed with hazardous and green solvents was conducted to reveal the differences in phase aggregation.This work not only underscores the significance of sustainability in OSCs but also lays the groundwork for unlocking the full potential of open-air-printable sustainable OSCs for commercialization. 展开更多

科研实验室变风量排风系统运行调节范围大,针对传统变风量系统中静压控制方法产生的系统振荡和能耗较高的问题,本文提出了一种新型实验室排风系统控制方法。采用人工神经网络的方法预测最优风机运行频率,既降低能耗又避免闭环控制的系... 科研实验室变风量排风系统运行调节范围大,针对传统变风量系统中静压控制方法产生的系统振荡和能耗较高的问题,本文提出了一种新型实验室排风系统控制方法。采用人工神经网络的方法预测最优风机运行频率,既降低能耗又避免闭环控制的系统振荡。以某科研实验楼3层一实验室为研究对象,基于CFD模拟与实验测量2种方法分别获取部分工况下的最优风机静压值构成训练数据集。利用反向传播(BP)神经网络模型学习得到控制模型。经CFD与实验验证,预测值与模拟最优值的误差控制在2.08%以内。相较于传统定静压控制算法,本方法显著降低了系统运行压力,最大降幅可达142.8 Pa,节能率最高可达23%。 展开更多

Taking the input and reflected waves into account,the relationship between the acoustic impedance at the end and the input of a system were theoretically analyzed.Closed and open acoustic configurations that influence the pressure,volumetric velocity,impedance and acoustic work were compared in detail.Based on the above investigation,an open-air traveling-wave thermoacoustic generator was designed and fabricated.It is composed of a looped tube,a resonator open at one end,a regenerator,and hot and cold heat exchangers.It is a small scale and simple configuration.The resonant frequency is 74 Hz at 1 bar in air.The maximum acoustic pressures at the open end and 0.5 m far away from the open end are 133.4 dB and 101 dB from a reference value of 20μPa when the heating power was 210 W,respectively.Acoustic pressure is reasonable for practical application as a low-frequency acoustic source.In further work,we believe that the acoustic pressure at the open end can achieve 150 dB,which could be a solution to problems in existing acoustic generators.These problems include low acoustic pressure and system complexity.It can be used as a basic acoustic source for low frequency and long-range noise experiments,and as a supply for high acoustic pressures necessary for industrial sources. 展开更多

选煤厂脱水工艺是影响精煤产品质量与企业经济效益的关键环节,大远选煤厂现有综合精煤水分约为19.4%~20.5%,该问题已对精煤销售与企业经济效益造成严重不利影响。通过详细分析各粒度级精煤的水分及其占综合精煤的比例,明确了导致大远选... 选煤厂脱水工艺是影响精煤产品质量与企业经济效益的关键环节,大远选煤厂现有综合精煤水分约为19.4%~20.5%,该问题已对精煤销售与企业经济效益造成严重不利影响。通过详细分析各粒度级精煤的水分及其占综合精煤的比例,明确了导致大远选煤厂综合精煤水分偏高的核心原因与可优化环节,并据此制定了降低综合精煤水分的工艺改造方案:更换1台空气穿流压滤机、1台卧式离心机,同时调整煤泥水工艺流程。生产实践表明,本次工艺优化实施后,粗精煤水分由改造前的18%降至约13.5%,压滤机滤饼水分由26%~29%降至18%~21%,综合精煤水分降低约4.25%,成功完成大远选煤厂脱水工艺优化,实现了综合精煤水分的有效降低。 展开更多

安装升力翼改变了高速列车固有气动外形,两车明线交会时,升力翼诱发的流场激扰作用将改变交会场景下高速列车周围的流场结构。为探究升力翼高速列车明线交会气动特性,明确升力翼对于明线交会时高速列车运行安全性和平稳性的影响,采用三... 安装升力翼改变了高速列车固有气动外形,两车明线交会时,升力翼诱发的流场激扰作用将改变交会场景下高速列车周围的流场结构。为探究升力翼高速列车明线交会气动特性,明确升力翼对于明线交会时高速列车运行安全性和平稳性的影响,采用三维可压缩N-S方程和Realizeable k-ε两方程湍流模型及滑移网格技术,对有/无升力翼高速列车速度400 km/h明线等速交会进行仿真模拟,对比分析列车交会压力波和气动力的变化规律。研究结果表明:给高速列车安装升力翼不会改变明线交会时列车表面压力波时程变化规律,但列车表面交会压力波时程曲线会整体“上移”;非交会侧垂向方向上,当高度大于0.5倍列车车高时,列车的空间交会压力波幅值开始增大,高度超过车高后开始减小,但升力翼列车的幅值始终大于原型高速列车,同时升力翼的安装与否不会改变交会压力波正峰值;在非交会侧横向方向上,不论有无升力翼,高速列车的空间交会压力波峰值变化趋势及大小基本相同,均随距轨道中心线距离增大而减小;升力翼会改变明线交会过程中高速列车侧向力时程变化规律,使交会过程中列车侧向力始终指向非交会侧,并加剧侧向力的波动,交会结束后侧向力需要更长的时间才能恢复稳定。研究成果可为后续升力翼高速列车系统的研发设计提供可靠的理论保障。 展开更多

为提升废旧爆炸物品处置过程的科学性,总结出适用于不同类型的废旧爆炸物品露天深孔爆破销毁技术。其中,废旧炮弹置于炮孔中间部位,而当单个炮孔同时销毁多发炮弹时,炮弹与炮弹之间需加入引爆炸药和添加起爆药包;废旧子弹和雷管应嵌入... 为提升废旧爆炸物品处置过程的科学性,总结出适用于不同类型的废旧爆炸物品露天深孔爆破销毁技术。其中,废旧炮弹置于炮孔中间部位,而当单个炮孔同时销毁多发炮弹时,炮弹与炮弹之间需加入引爆炸药和添加起爆药包;废旧子弹和雷管应嵌入炸药中,弹头或雷管头的方向应一致,再把分开的炸药药柱用胶布绑扎合拢在一起。而对于废旧炸药,其中未失效的废旧炸药可以与露天深孔爆破的有效炸药一同正常使用;性能降低但未完全失效的炸药则装填在炮孔的上部位置;过期且失效的炸药应作为填塞材料用于炮孔填塞,为确保废旧炸药销毁彻底,应在废旧炸药的上部、中部、下部不同位置布置多个起爆药包。 展开更多

厨房油烟是室内空气污染的主要来源之一,针对当前开放式厨房油烟扩散易造成整个室内环境污染的问题,利用CFD软件对开放式厨房油烟的扩散情况进行数值模拟。通过分析多种工况下烹饪油烟代表物CO_(2)的扩散规律,探究油烟机形式、油烟机布... 厨房油烟是室内空气污染的主要来源之一,针对当前开放式厨房油烟扩散易造成整个室内环境污染的问题,利用CFD软件对开放式厨房油烟的扩散情况进行数值模拟。通过分析多种工况下烹饪油烟代表物CO_(2)的扩散规律,探究油烟机形式、油烟机布局朝向及是否开窗通风对厨房内污染物扩散的影响,得出控制开放式厨房油烟污染物的最佳方式。结果表明:相同工况下,顶吸式油烟机净化室内污染物所需排风量较侧吸式油烟机少43%左右,且油烟机朝墙布置比朝窗布置的排烟效果更好;在关窗通风条件下,油烟机朝墙布置下的室内局部CO_(2)体积分数虽比朝窗布置略高,但高CO_(2)体积分数区域范围明显比朝窗布置小。论文研究成果仅为开放式厨房油烟机选型及布置提供参考。 展开更多

超导磁浮列车明线与隧道内气动噪声仿真研究

超导磁浮列车运行时马赫数接近0.5,气动噪声占据主导地位,当列车全速穿越隧道时,其近壁面气动激扰急剧增加。基于大涡模拟和N-S方程,对600 km/h超导磁浮列车在明线及横截面积79 m~2的隧道工况下进行数值模拟研究,分析列车近壁面流场扰... 超导磁浮列车运行时马赫数接近0.5,气动噪声占据主导地位,当列车全速穿越隧道时,其近壁面气动激扰急剧增加。基于大涡模拟和N-S方程,对600 km/h超导磁浮列车在明线及横截面积79 m~2的隧道工况下进行数值模拟研究,分析列车近壁面流场扰动结构、车体表面气动噪声源分布及车内噪声在明线、隧道工况下的差异。结果表明:明线、隧道工况下超导磁浮列车周围的气动激扰主要分布在列车车顶两侧,尾车流线型与尾流区,隧道工况下列车周围与尾流区的气动激扰显著增强;明线与隧道工况下偶极子噪声源较强的区域主要位于超导线圈后方、中车车顶两侧及尾车流线型区域,隧道工况下列车各部件等效声源声功率增长幅度不一致,中车1~6、尾车非流线型及尾车流线型等效声源声功率较明线工况增长幅度依次约为7.8倍、8.3倍、10.27倍、8.8倍、12.15倍、12.19倍、7.68倍、12.03倍;整车与不同部件等效声源声功率频谱曲线均表现出宽峰特征,隧道工况下列车在全频段,尤其是125~5 000 Hz范围内的偶极子噪声能量较明线工况显著增加,表面声源声功率峰值频率增大,隧道工况下160 Hz离散次峰的偶极子噪声主要源于轨道凹腔内气动激扰冲击车底而产生的表面脉动压力。受活塞效应影响,相较于明线工况,超导磁浮列车隧道工况下车内噪声水平显著提升,明线、隧道工况下最大车内噪声均在尾车区域获得,车内噪声峰值依次为82.5 dB(A)、97.7 dB(A)。研究成果为隧道工况下超导磁浮列车气动声学优化设计提供了参考。 展开更多
