The electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol was studied over Ni, Co and Cu binary or ternary alloys on graphite electrodes in a NaOH solution (0.1 mol/L). The catalysts were prepared by cycling the graphite electrode in solutions containing Ni, Cu and Co ions at cathodic potentials. The synergistic effects and catalytic activity of the modified electrodes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry CCA) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). It was found that, in the presence of methanol, the modified Ni-based ternary alloy electrode (G/NiCuCo) exhibited a significantly higher response for methanol oxidation compared to the other samples. The anodic peak currents showed a linear dependency on the square root of the scan rate, which is a characteristic of a diffusion controlled process. During CA studies, the reaction exhibited Cottrellin behavior and the diffusion coefficient of methanol was determined to be 6.25× 10-6 cm2/s and the catalytic rate constant, K, for methanol oxidation was found to be 40×107 cm3/Cmol.s). Alloying degree, particle size and the level of dispersion are the key structural parameters of Pt-Ru/C catalyst in fuel cells. Solvent(s) used in the preparation process can affect the particle size and alloying degree of the object substance, which lead to a great positive impact on its properties. In this work, three types of solvents and their mixtures were used in preparation of the Pt-Ru/C catalysts by chemical reduction of metal precursors with sodium borohydride at room temperature. The structure of the catalysts was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The catalytic activity and stability for methanol electro-oxidation were studied by Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) and Chronoamperometry (CA). Pt-Ru/C catalyst prepared in H2O or binary solvents of H2O and isopropanol had large particle size and low alloying degree leading to low catalytic activity and less stability in methanol electro-oxidation. When tetrahydrofuran was added to the above solvent systems, Pt-Ru/C catalyst prepared had smaller particle size and higher alloying degree which resulted in better catalytic activity, lower onset and peak potentials, compared with the above catalysts. Moreover, the catalyst prepared in ternary solvents of isopropanol, water and tetrahydrofuran had the smallest particle size, and the high alloying degree and the dispersion kept unchanged. Therefore, this kind of catalyst showed the highest catalytic activity and good stability for methanol electro-oxidation. 展开更多

The salt effects on molecular orientation at air/liquid methanol interface were investigated by the polarization-dependent sum frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy(SFG-VS). We clarified that the average tilting angle of the methyl group to be u = 308 58 at the air/pure methanol surface assuming a d-function orientational distribution. Upon the addition of 3 mol/L Na I, the methyl group tilts further away from the surface normal with a new u = 418 38. This orientational change does not explain the enhancement of the SFG-VS intensities when adding Na I, implying the number density of the methanol molecules with a net polar ordering in the surface region also changed with the Na I concentrations. These spectroscopic findings shed new light on the salt effects on the surfaces structures of the polar organic solutions. It was also shown that the accurate determination of the bulk refractive indices and Raman depolarization ratios for different salt concentrations is crucial to quantitatively interpret the SFG-VS data. 展开更多

The effect of chloride ions on a monoclinic ZrO2-supported RuOx (RuOx/m-ZrO2) catalyst with a Ru surface density of 0.3 Ru/nm2 was studied in the selective oxidation of methanol to methyl formate (MF) at a low temperature of 373 K. The m-ZrO2 support was Cl-free, and Cl- ions were introduced into the RuOx/m-ZrO2 catalyst by impregnation with zirconium oxychloride or ammonium chloride and subsequent thermal treatment in air at 673 K. The structures of these catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies. Their reducibility was probed by temperature-programmed reduction in H2. The RuOx domains were present as highly dispersed Rut42- structure on m-ZrO2 with similar reducibility for the RuOx/m-ZrO2 samples irrespective of modification with or without Cl ions. Introduction of appropriate amounts of zirconium oxychloride into RuOx/m-ZrO2 led to a remarkable increase in the methanol oxidation rate and MF selectivity, whereas introduction of ammonium chloride or zirconyl nitrate significantly inhibited the catalytic performance of RuOx/m-ZrO2. The promoting effect of Cl- ions derived from zirconium oxychloride can be tentatively attributed to their roles in facilitating the adsorption of methanol and desorption of MF product or its intermediates. This finding provides novel insights into the promoting effect of Cl- ions on oxides-based catalysts for selective oxidation reactions. 展开更多

The effects of methanol extract of cleistopholis patens on the reproductive system of female Wistar rats

Objective:In Port Harcourt and its environs,extracts of Cleistopholis patens are used by traditional medicine healers for the treatment of menstrual irregularities and other gynaecological disorders.The objective of this study was therefore to determine the effects of orally administered methanol extract of the stem bark of Cleistopholis patens on the reproductive organs of non-pregnant albino(Wistar) rats.Methods:3g/kg(low dose) and 6g/kg(high dose) of the extract were administered orally,daily to two different groups of animals,respectively, over a period of 28 days.A third(control) group of animals received distilled water only,orally over the same period.Five animals from each of the groups were sacrificed on day 8,15 and 29.Venous blood samples and reproductive organs respectively were taken from each group of sacrificed animals for hormonal and histopathological analysis.Results:Results of the hormonal assay revealed a general increase in the levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone(FSH),Luteinizing Hormone(LH),progesterone,and estrogen.The highest levels were noticed in the animals sacrificed on the 29th day(LH =5.48±0.04 IU/L;FSH =3.80±0.00 IU/ L;Progesterone =7.14±0.15 nmol/L;Estrogen = 0.168±0.002 nmol/L).These increases were statistically significant compared to those of the control animals(LH =2.90±0.00 IU /L;FSH = 1.28±0.02 IU/L; Progesterone = 3.80±0.00 nmol/L;Estrogen = 0.130±0.002 nmol/L;P【0.05),and were also dose dependent. Results of the histopathological studies showed presence of chronic inflammatory cells in the tissues of the fallopian tubes and uterus on the 29th day.However,no changes were observed in the ovaries.Conclusion: The administration of the extract produced a dose and time-dependent increase in FSH,LH,progesterone and estrogen levels.We postulate that these observed effects may have been induced by the phytoestrogens (known to have 1/1 000 th of the efficacy of natural oestrogens) in the extract.The hormonal and histopathological changes may explain the effects described by patients following ingestion of extracts of this plant in traditional medical practice.However,it remains to be determined if these effects are harmful or beneficial in disease conditions. 展开更多

用氮气稀释含有丙酮、异丙醇、正己烷、乙酸乙酯、苯等5种挥发性有机化合物(VOCs)的混合标准气体制备标准吸附管系列,采用热脱附-气相色谱-质谱法测定并绘制工作曲线,以考察空气、二氧化碳、甲醇基质对低、中、高含量上述5种VOCs测定的... 用氮气稀释含有丙酮、异丙醇、正己烷、乙酸乙酯、苯等5种挥发性有机化合物(VOCs)的混合标准气体制备标准吸附管系列,采用热脱附-气相色谱-质谱法测定并绘制工作曲线,以考察空气、二氧化碳、甲醇基质对低、中、高含量上述5种VOCs测定的影响。结果显示:5种VOCs的质量在不同范围内和对应的定量离子的峰面积呈线性关系,检出限(3S/N)为0.0300~1.00 ng,测定值的相对标准偏差(n=7)为2.1%~5.7%;除甲醇基质中低含量丙酮和异丙醇的回收率大于200%外,3种基质中不同含量的5种VOCs的回收率均在90.0%~110%内,推测残留在检测器中的甲醇影响了与甲醇保留时间接近的丙酮和异丙醇的电离,导致离子强度增大,回收率增加。 展开更多

包覆结构铁钼催化剂的钼缓释作用及其对催化甲醇氧化制甲醛稳定的影响

为了缓解铁钼催化剂在甲醇选择性氧化制甲醛过程中钼流失带来的稳定性问题,设计并通过分步沉积法制备了以二氧化硅载体为内核,MoO_(3)为内层,Fe_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3)为外层的层状包覆结构铁钼催化剂。采用X-射线衍射(XRD)、高分辨率透射电... 为了缓解铁钼催化剂在甲醇选择性氧化制甲醛过程中钼流失带来的稳定性问题,设计并通过分步沉积法制备了以二氧化硅载体为内核,MoO_(3)为内层,Fe_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3)为外层的层状包覆结构铁钼催化剂。采用X-射线衍射(XRD)、高分辨率透射电镜(HRTEM)、拉曼光谱(Raman spectroscopy)、X-射线光电子能谱(XPS)证明了该包覆结构铁钼催化剂已成功合成。通过对500℃的N_(2)气氛和反应气氛中加速老化前后的催化性能对比,对催化剂的MoO_(3)流失和催化稳定性进行了研究。结果表明:层状包覆结构发挥了其对MoO_(3)的缓释作用,内层MoO_(3)能够通过迁移对表面MoO_(3)的流失进行补给,且外层Fe_(2)(MoO_(4))_(3)的包裹抑制了内层氧化钼的快速流失。相较于无规共混的铁钼催化剂,层状包覆结构提高了MoO_(3)的补给利用率,在催化剂钼元素含量降低67.24%的情况下,层状包覆结构铁钼催化剂的老化稳定性得到了进一步提高。 展开更多

目的研究不同产地火炭母甲醇提取物对内毒素(LPS)所致发热家兔的解热抗炎作用及相关机制。方法LPS复制家兔发热模型,记录药后3 h和6 h肛温及肛温差值,采血检测血清谷丙转氨酶(ALT)、谷草转氨酶(AST)、肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)、白细胞介... 目的研究不同产地火炭母甲醇提取物对内毒素(LPS)所致发热家兔的解热抗炎作用及相关机制。方法LPS复制家兔发热模型,记录药后3 h和6 h肛温及肛温差值,采血检测血清谷丙转氨酶(ALT)、谷草转氨酶(AST)、肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)、白细胞介素-1(IL-1β)、白细胞介素-6(IL-6)和前列腺素E_(2)(PGE_(2))水平,使用HE染色观察肝组织和下丘脑组织病理学改变,免疫组化法检测肝组织COX-2和下丘脑NF-κB、COX-2、TLR4表达水平。结果与模型组相比,火炭母甲醇提取物药后3 h和6 h肛温值均能显著降低(P<0.05或P<0.01);火炭母甲醇提取物组家兔血清AST、ALT水平均降低,除广西桂林产地的家兔血清AST水平不具显著性外,其余产地的家兔血清AST、ALT水平均显著降低(P<0.05或P<0.01);火炭母甲醇提取物组家兔血清IL-1β、IL-6、TNF-α和PGE_(2)水平均降低,除广西桂林产地的家兔血清的TNF-α、IL-6和PGE_(2)水平无统计学意义,其余组别家兔血清TNF-α、IL-6、IL-1β和PGE_(2)水平显著降低(P<0.05或P<0.01);火炭母甲醇提取物均可减轻肝组织和下丘脑组织病理学损伤,肝组织COX-2和下丘脑NF-κB、COX-2、TLR4水平均能显著降低(P<0.05或P<0.01),推测其阻断NF-κB p65从细胞质到细胞核的转运,减少IL-1β、TNF-α和IL-6下游促炎因子的产生。另外,可抑制COX-2表达,降低PEG2水平,缓解氧化应激反应,发挥抗炎解热作用。结论不同产地火炭母对LPS所致发热均具有良好的解热作用,其机制可能与增强肝功能、促进机体抗炎能力和降低肝组织COX-2和下丘脑NF-κB、COX-2、TLR4表达水平有关,其中广西防城的火炭母甲醇提取物被认为效果最佳。 展开更多

通过调控煅烧温度制备不同粒径(2~13 nm)的Au/ZnO催化剂,探究局域表面等离子体共振(localized surface plasmon resonance,LSPR)效应强度对光热下该催化剂催化CH4氧化制CH_(3)OH性能的影响。通过X-射线粉末衍射仪、比表面与孔隙度分析... 通过调控煅烧温度制备不同粒径(2~13 nm)的Au/ZnO催化剂,探究局域表面等离子体共振(localized surface plasmon resonance,LSPR)效应强度对光热下该催化剂催化CH4氧化制CH_(3)OH性能的影响。通过X-射线粉末衍射仪、比表面与孔隙度分析仪、场发射透射电子显微镜、紫外-可见漫反射光谱仪、稳态荧光光谱仪、电子顺磁共振波谱仪等,对Au/ZnO及催化反应中间体进行表征。通过光热催化CH4氧化反应实验评估Au/ZnO的活性,使用核磁共振波谱仪、气相色谱仪对液相和气相产物进行分析。结果表明,随着煅烧温度升高,Au纳米颗粒的粒径增大,LSPR效应增强。适度的LSPR效应,通过热电子注入机制促进光生载流子分离,进而提升催化剂的活性,但LSPR效应过强,过量的热电子将加速载流子复合,反而降低催化剂的催化性能。研究结果为分析贵金属LSPR效应对催化剂反应性能的影响、设计高效光热催化体系以实现CH4选择性转化,提供了重要参考。 展开更多

甲醇精馏模拟单塔与双效精馏对比分析

甲醇作为重要的有机化工原料,在多个领域应用广泛,致使其工业需求量不断攀升。甲醇精馏工序对产品质量影响重大,且能耗占比较高。在“碳排放、碳达峰”政策及能源成本上升的背景下,优化甲醇精馏工艺意义非凡。本文以某甲醇生产装置为例... 甲醇作为重要的有机化工原料,在多个领域应用广泛,致使其工业需求量不断攀升。甲醇精馏工序对产品质量影响重大,且能耗占比较高。在“碳排放、碳达峰”政策及能源成本上升的背景下,优化甲醇精馏工艺意义非凡。本文以某甲醇生产装置为例,运用Aspen Plus软件,基于NRTL热力学模型,对单塔精馏和双效精馏工艺进行模拟与优化。模拟结果显示,在保证产品质量的前提下,双效精馏相较于单塔精馏,循环水减少约67t,蒸汽减少约1t,能耗约为单塔精馏的1/3。经济性评价表明,尽管双效精馏设备投资增加,但操作费用降低,年总费用比单塔精馏低25%,投资回收期均为5年。因此,双效精馏工艺在节能降耗和经济效益方面均更具优势,可作为甲醇精馏工艺优化的优选方案,助力企业降低成本、提升竞争力,推动绿色化工发展。 展开更多

A series of novel carbon nanofibers(CNFs)based Cu-ZrO2 catalysts were synthesized by deposition precipitation method.To investigate the influence of promoter,catalysts were loaded with 1,2,3 and 4 wt%ZnO and characterized by ICP-OES,HRTEM,BET,N2O chemisorption,TPR,XPS and CO2-TPD techniques.The results revealed that physicochemical properties of the catalysts were strongly influenced by incorporation of ZnO to the parent catalyst.Copper surface area(SCu)and dispersion(DCu)were slightly decreased by incorporation of ZnO promoter.Nevertheless,SCuand DCuwere remarkably decreased when ZnO content was exceeded beyond 3 wt%.The catalytic performance was evaluated by using autoclave slurry reactor at a pressure and temperature of 30 bar and 180℃,respectively.The promotion of CuZrO2/CNFs catalyst with 3 wt%of ZnO enhanced methanol synthesis rate from 32 to 45 g kg^-1 h^-1.Notably,with the ZnO promotion the selectivity to methanol was enhanced to 92%compared to 78%of the un-promoted Cu-ZrO2/CNFs catalyst at the expense of a lowered CO2 conversion.In addition,the catalytic activity of this novel catalyst system for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol was compared with the recent literature data. 展开更多

We present a straightforward physical approach for synthesizing multiwalled carbon nanotubes(CNTs)-Pd Au/Pt trimetallic nanoparticles(NPs), which allows predesign and control of the metal compositional ratio by simply adjusting the sputtering targets and conditions. The small-sized CNTs-Pd Au/Pt NPs(~3 nm, Pd/Au/Pt ratio of 3:1:2) act as nanocatalysts for the methanol oxidationreaction(MOR), showing excellent performance with electrocatalytic peak current of 4.4 A mg^(-1) Pt and high stability over 7000 s. The electrocatalytic activity and stability of the Pd Au/Pt trimetallic NPs are much superior to those of the corresponding Pd/Pt and Au/Pt bimetallic NPs,as well as a commercial Pt/C catalyst. Systematic investigation of the microscopic, crystalline, and electronic structure of the Pd Au/Pt NPs reveals alloying and charge redistribution in the Pd Au/Pt NPs, which are responsible for the promotion of the electrocatalytic performance. 展开更多

化石燃料对人类社会具有重要作用,然而CO_(2)大量排放对全球气候产生了负面影响。CO_(2)加氢制甲醇不仅能够有效降低大气中CO_(2)浓度,还提供了高附加值化学品。非贵金属(Cu)基、贵金属(Pd)基和双金属氧化物等一系列催化剂已经被运用于C... 化石燃料对人类社会具有重要作用,然而CO_(2)大量排放对全球气候产生了负面影响。CO_(2)加氢制甲醇不仅能够有效降低大气中CO_(2)浓度,还提供了高附加值化学品。非贵金属(Cu)基、贵金属(Pd)基和双金属氧化物等一系列催化剂已经被运用于CO_(2)加氢制甲醇,然而传统Cu基催化剂存在反应条件苛刻、活性位点易烧结和团聚的问题,Pd基催化剂抗烧结性能较好且在低温下有优异的反应活性,但贵金属对CO_(2)的吸附较弱,CO_(2)在低温下很难被活化。双金属氧化物催化剂(以ln_(2)O_(3)基和ZrO_(2)基催化剂为主)具有优异的催化性能和良好的稳定性,其中单独的In2O3自身稳定性较差,且In_(2)O_(3)基催化剂的活性相In_(2)O_(3)-x容易被过度还原形成金属In而失活,需要掺杂其他改性元素进一步提高其稳定性和活性;单独的ZrO_(2)催化性能不理想,需要通过与其他金属或金属氧化物相互作用提升其催化性能。稀土元素(La、Ce和Y)作为改性元素或其氧化物作为催化剂载体,能有效调节催化剂的表面酸碱性、活性相分散度和比表面积以及金属-载体相互作用等,从而改善催化剂对CO_(2)的吸附和活化性能,增大产物选择性,并提高催化剂稳定性。综述了La、Ce和Y对Cu基、Pd基和双金属氧化物催化剂的改性作用,以期为稀土元素改性CO_(2)加氢制甲醇催化剂的研发和应用提供参考。 展开更多

针对太阳能光热化学甲醇重整制氢中光热耦合效应及微观机理尚不清楚的问题,采用光热化学和热化学反应对比的研究方式,与微观实验相结合,研究了光热化学甲醇重整中光和热的耦合效应,探究了光和热在微观产物转化中的反应路径。研究结果表... 针对太阳能光热化学甲醇重整制氢中光热耦合效应及微观机理尚不清楚的问题,采用光热化学和热化学反应对比的研究方式,与微观实验相结合,研究了光热化学甲醇重整中光和热的耦合效应,探究了光和热在微观产物转化中的反应路径。研究结果表明:在较低温度下,光对氢气产率的提升具有促进作用,当其与热化学达到相同氢气产率时,光热化学反应温度降低,造成这种现象的原因是光促进了水的分解、吸附态HCOO*的生成以及碳酸盐的分解,其中水在反应中的作用通过不同水醇比的实验得到了进一步验证;随着温度的升高,固定辐照度下光的促进作用逐渐降低,这是因为光对碳酸盐物质分解的促进作用随温度升高而减弱。研究阐明了光和热的耦合效应,分析了对应的微观机理,为理解光热协同机理提供了理论基础。 展开更多
